How fast do Samson eBikes go?
Most of our eBikes provide you with speeds up to 20 mph. Some models can assist up to 28 mph, but you need to provide a significant amount of your own pedal power to reach top speed.
No. The intent of the electric bike is to be similar to a conventional bicycle, but with less effort in pedaling. If eBikes provided higher pedal assist speeds, they would have to be regulated like a scooter/motorcycle; which would require registration, licensure, insurance, etc. In addition, this would limit where they could be ridden.
Samson eBikes are designed to maximize fun and minimize hassle. That’s why we designed them to be as accessible as a traditional bike.
Most of our eBikes have a range of 25-50 miles, although it depends on riding conditions (hills, headwinds, etc.); how much weight is on the eBike and how much pedal power you are providing.
Samson eBikes range from 350 watts to 750 watts. 750 watts is the maximum power to still be considered a bicycle, which equates to 1 horsepower.
Our batteries will charge from empty to full in just 5 hours. But don’t worry. You can top-off your lithium-ion batteries at anytime without hurting the battery.
Generally, the cost will be from $0.03 to $0.10 to charge a Samson eBike battery. This will depend on what your local electricity supplier charges. The cost is so low, most employers won’t mind if you charge up at work!
